hey there Rachel,
For perimeter I got my grade 4's to measure their desks, the chalkboard, and other items in the classroom. For mass and capacity, I assigned them a 2L, 4L, 500ml or under and 1L homework task. They had to go home and list 10 things in each catergory that they could find. For example; shampoo is usually 400ml or 1L. Bottle of ketchup is 1L for a big bottle. Then we all shared our answers in class. It got them interested in mass and put real meaning to studying this type of math. One thing that I noticed teaching grade 4 is that once you introduce perimeter they understand it, but then to introduce area afterwards it gets a little confusing for them.

I did a 'survior math' theme once that was fun. I made an 'imuunity neclace" (from homework) had daily challenges tribal councils and all that fun stuff.
