O HOLY NIGHT

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining…

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning…

It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men…
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth….

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it….
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn….

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God…
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-5;12-14)

O night divine, O night when Christ was born!

O night, O holy night, O night divine!
